On October 24-25, 2012, a delegation from the city of Munich, the federal state of Bavaria, was in Kyiv at the invitation of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care". It consists of specialists in palliative care: the Executive Director of the Bavarian Hospice and Palliative Care Association, the Executive Director of the Bavarian Palliative and Hospice Care Association, the Chairman of the Board of the German Palliative and Hospice Care Association, Dr. of the family, who actively supported partnership cooperation between Munich and Kyiv in the social and healthcare spheres for 20 years, and also participated in the implementation of many successful projects and the creation of medical facilities in Kyiv, such as the Center for Neurological Rehabilitation for Children and Adolescents, a children's dialysis station and a model perinatal center in Children's Hospital No. 1, as well as an outpatient care service,and the Temporary Stay Center for Children with Cerebral Palsy of the Kyiv Samaritan Union Dr. Höltzel.

On October 25, a working meeting of our German colleagues took place with the mayor of Kyiv O. Popov, at which the development of the palliative care system, in particular in the capital, was discussed. On the basis of the Ukrainian Medical Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Organic Damage to the Nervous System of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, headed by Volodymyr Yuriyovych Martynyuk, a seminar was held at which Dr. Rösch presented the system of palliative care in Germany: the functioning of hospices and palliative care departments, sources of their funding, the work of volunteers and volunteers, the work of field teams.

The event was attended by: Head of the Main Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Tetyana Mykolaivna Kostyurenko, Head of the Main Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Pechersk District, Olena Georgievna Fedkevich and of the Podilsk District, Tetyana Yuriivna Laktionova, Director of the Institute of Palliative and Hospice Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Yuriy Ivanovich Gubskyi, representatives of the UOZ Svyatoshynskyi , Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Solomyanskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Desnyanskyi, Holosiivskyi districts, doctors.

The result of the meeting was the signing of a protocol on further cooperation in the field of palliative and hospice care between the Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care and the Bavarian Hospice and Palliative Association.
