On October 11, 2012, in Kyiv, as part of the International Day of Palliative Care and Hospice, the socio-political event "Live to the Last Breath" was held, at which the premiere of the documentary film "A Step Over the Horizon" took place, highlighting the main problems of the palliative care system in Ukraine in general and personal stories of terminally ill people, in particular: their little joys, pain, experiences, despair...

The event was attended by politicians, representatives of the executive branch of government and local self-government, city head Oleksandr Pavlovich Popov, journalists, representatives of international organizations in Ukraine, practitioners in the field of palliative care, representatives of the clergy and an interested public. At the invitation of the League, guests from St. Petersburg took part in the event: General Director of the St. Petersburg Children's Hospice Archpriest Oleksandr Tkachenko and Deputy General Director Iryna Gimova.

People's artists of Ukraine took part: Volodymyr Hryshko, Nina Matvienko, Ruslana, Bohdan Beniuk, Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktor Pavlik.

The event took place on October 11, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the premises of the Colonnade Hall of the Kyiv City State Administration at the address: Kyiv, st. Khreshchatyk, 36.

The event was held with the assistance of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Kyiv City State Administration.
