On May 24, 2018, another meeting of the Presidium of the Board of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" was held
At which a number of important issues were considered, in particular: problems and priority tasks of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" in the development of the palliative care system in Ukraine.
As noted by the Chairman of the Presidium, Vasyl Knyazevich, the main task of the League is to promote the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada and the Government of Ukraine of a regulatory framework in the field of creation and development of an accessible, high-quality and effective system of palliative and hospice care for the population, which is provided for by the legislation of Ukraine, the relevant resolutions of the WHO, the Council of Europe and authoritative international organizations.
At the meeting of the Presidium, the head of the separate division of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" Volodymyr Melnychuk was invited, who noted that thanks to the efforts of the regional organization of the League, on December 22, 2017, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council approved the comprehensive program "Development of Palliative Care" assistance in Prykarpattia 2017-2022. This program provides an opportunity to support vulnerable segments of the population, and will also stimulate medical communities and local self-government in the region to form hospital districts.
Vasyl Knyazevich noted that thanks to the active participation of the separate unit of the Sumy regional organization of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care", the Regional Program for the Development of Palliative Care for 2018-2020 was developed and approved. The program provides for the implementation of palliative care and care measures through the interaction of relevant subjects of state, communal form of ownership and public organizations.
The meeting heard information about the preparation and holding of the Third National Congress on palliative care on October 25-26, 2018.
The presidium decided to hold another meeting of the Board in June. Invite the heads of separate regional organizations of the League to participate in it.
