Actual problems of palliative care were discussed in Kharkiv

The scientific and practical conference "Palliative care in Ukraine: components and ways of development" dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Kharkiv Regional Center of Palliative Medicine "Hospice" was held on September 18-19 in Kharkiv. At the opening of the conference, the Chairman of the Board of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" (hereinafter referred to as the League) Vasyl Knyazevich congratulated the conference participants and presented the chief doctor of the Kharkiv Regional Center of Palliative Medicine "Hospice" Vitaly Oleksandrovych Ekzarkhov with an honorary certificate of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for a significant contribution to the development of medicine.

Also, thanks from the League for many years of conscientious work, high professionalism, dedication to the cause, an active public position and on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the foundation of the Kharkiv Regional Center of Palliative Medicine "Hospice" were presented to the employees of the Hospice Medical Center. On behalf of the League, Vasyl Knyazevich presented the icon of Saint Panteleimon the Healer, the patron saint of the palliative movement in Ukraine, to the Hospice Medical Center. Also, thanks from the League were presented to the employees of the Hospice Medical Center.

At the first plenary meeting, in his speech, the Chairman of the Board of the League, Vasyl Knyazevich, noted that despite the difficult situation in the country - practically a war, which takes away the lives and health of Ukrainians and many resources, palliative care should be developed. The main task in palliative care now is to work out the theoretical foundations of its development.
