On the Day of Panteleimon the Healer, famous doctors of Ukraine prayed for their colleagues and initiated the implementation of the tradition of the All-Ukrainian Forgiveness for Doctors

On the day of commemoration of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, a liturgy was held in St. Michael's Golden-Top Monastery, where well-known doctors, scientists, the leadership of the medical field prayed for the spiritual and mentoring support of nurses, doctors and all those who save the sick and infirm. The event was attended by Minister of Health of Ukraine Oleg Musii, First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Ruslan Salyutin, Deputy Minister of Health Vasyl Lazorshinets, Chairman of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" Vasyl Knyazevich, Advisor to the Vice - Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Soroka, head of the State Medical Service Mykhailo Pasichnyk and others.

We will remind you that the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon is revered by the Christian world as an outstanding doctor and healer, and is also considered the patron saint of warriors.

Vasyl Knyazevich and other laureates of the "Cross of Panteleimon the Healer" took the initiative to make August 9 a landmark day for all medical workers and appealed to their colleagues to implement the tradition of the All-Ukrainian Forgiveness for Doctors. "We, laureates of the award "Cross of Panteleimon the Healer", initiate to make August 9 the day of All-Ukrainian Forgiveness for all medical workers of Ukraine. The tradition of attending services in all Christian churches of Ukraine on the Day of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon the Healer and joint prayer will unite the medical community of our country, introduce humanistic principles of society regarding respect for the profession of a doctor. In addition, such an initiative further consolidates doctors and priests on the path of physical and spiritual healing of our citizens," the response states.

A similar appeal has been prepared to the leading Christian churches of Ukraine, which emphasizes: "At a time of difficult trials for our country, when the lives of hundreds and thousands of defenders of the Motherland and peaceful citizens are at stake, we appeal to the holy fathers of the Christian churches of Ukraine, to the heads of all churches, priests, pastors in different parts of our country with a request to pray on this day for peace in Ukraine, for the spiritual and mentoring support of nurses, doctors and all those who save the sick and infirm".

Vasyl Knyazevich handed over the icon of the Healer Pantelemon to the representatives of St. Michael's Golden-Top Monastery and thanked all the doctors for their spiritual support. In turn, the representative of St. Michael's Golden-Top Monastery, Father Lavrentiy, addressed the medical community: "Today, honoring the memory of the Great Martyr Panteleimon, we want to thank God that He cares in various ways for giving skill to doctors who save our lives." He thanked for the joint prayer and wished that the Lord would give the doctors health, skill and inspiration to fulfill their duties.
