ANNOUNCEMENT. On the day of commemoration of Saint Panteleimon the Healer, prayers for doctors and soldiers will be held in Christian churches

On August 9, at 12:00 p.m., a Liturgy dedicated to the memory of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon* will be held in the St. Michael Golden-Top Monastery (Kyiv, 8, Tryohsvyatitelska St.) with the participation of famous doctors, laureates of the "Cross of Panteleimon the Healer"** , representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

On this day, words of prayer will be heard for the spiritual and mentoring support of nurses, doctors and all those who save the sick and infirm, for the military personnel who are currently protecting our state from aggression. We invite everyone to join the event so that as many Ukrainians as possible join the words of prayer on this day.

*The Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon is revered by the Christian world as an outstanding doctor and healer, and is also considered the patron saint of warriors.

**In 2009, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine established the departmental award "Cross of Panteleimon the Healer", which honors doctors, scientists, priests, and other citizens who have made a significant contribution to treatment, charitable activities and assistance to the infirm. Among the awardees: outstanding scientist-surgeon P. Fomin, His Beatitude Lubomyr (Huzar), outstanding scientist-neurologist Volodymyr Martyniuk, world-renowned doctors O. Shalimov and M. Amosov (posthumously), Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret, Minister of Health of Ukraine 2007-2010 V. Knyazevich, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine 1992-2014 Volodymyr, famous scientist-pediatrician Olena Lukyanova, outstanding scientist in the field of rehabilitation Volodymyr Kozyavkivn and many others.
