Vasyl Knyazevich: An exemplary children's hospice will be created in Kyiv
Ukraine is finally finding the right approach to children's palliative care and soon a children's hospice will appear in the capital, which will become a model and standard for future similar centers throughout Ukraine. This was stated by the chairman of the board of the "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care", Vasyl Knyazevich, following the results of a visit to the Center for Palliative Care for Children in Kyiv, which is located on the basis of the Kyiv City Dermatology and Venereology Hospital.

"There was a lot of uncertainty and speculation around the topic of children's palliative care. But it seems that we have found a doctor - Igor Trofimov - who successfully forms a multidisciplinary team, started cooperation with the medical and social services of Kyiv. Now the on-site service is working, then there will be a presentation of the inpatient care project and the city will finally get a full-fledged children's hospice," said Vasyl Knyazevich. He reminded that the project has been going on for almost a year and currently there are many new approaches that need to be settled, including construction standards for future similar centers in Ukraine.

The head of the "League" drew attention to the broad support of the children's palliative center from the Department of Health Care of the KMDA. Provided that the work dynamics are maintained, the children's hospice will soon become a reality.
