Vasyl Knyazevich: Regions should submit nominations for the training of trainers in palliative and hospice care

The training of trainers with the help of international specialists is quite realistic and will gradually solve the problem of improving the qualifications of Ukrainian specialists in the regions. This opinion was expressed by Vasyl Knyazevich, the head of the Board of the NGO "Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care" during a meeting with the participation of representatives of regional centers.

"Each region and medical institution must submit candidacies for holding international trainings, where they can train future Ukrainian trainers. Our main mission is to create a serious movement of an effective organization that can meet today's challenges," said Knyazevich.

As noted during the meeting, in addition to determining the number of palliative care beds in the regions, field teams, etc., it is worth training those who will become teachers for other doctors and nurses. Then the problem of staff shortage and the improvement of the qualifications of already working doctors will be gradually solved.
