Vasyl Knyazevich visited Prykarpattia on a working visit

On February 18-19, Vasyl Knyazevich, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian League for the Development of Palliative and Hospice Care, was on a working visit to Prykarpattia. As part of the visit, Vasyl Knyazevich met with the Rector of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Prof. Rozhko Mykola Mykhailovych. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Department of Health Protection of the Ivano-Frankivsk State Administration Mykola Petrovych Stovban, Vice-Rector, Candidate of Medical Sciences. Fedorchynko Volodymyr Mykhailovych.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of personnel training, creation of the University Clinic and further cooperation.

On February 18, a meeting of the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk Kyr Volodymyr and the Chairman of the Board of the  Ukrainian League for the Promotion and Development of Palliative and Hospice Care   Vasyl Knyazevich took place in the premises of the Archdiocesan Administration.

During the meeting, issues and prospects for the development of relations between the Church and the League in the field of palliative and hospice care were discussed. In particular, Mr. Vasyl thanked the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese for the active participation of chaplains in the life of Carpathian hospitals, hospices and other palliative institutions.  

In his turn, Kyr Volodymyr inquired about the prospects of recognition of medical chaplains at the state level, because, as is known, such conversations are now being actively discussed on the sidelines of Ukrainian parliamentarians. 

They also discussed the issue of cooperation in awarding a commemorative award with the Order of the "Cross of Panteleimon the Healer"

As part of the visit, Vasyl Mykhailovych held a meeting with the staff and students of the Ivano-Frankivsk Basic Medical College, where he studied. Vasyl Knyazevich also invited the director of the college Volodymyr Vasyliovych Stasyuk to a conference on personnel policy in the health care system. 

Vasyl Mykhailovych visited the polyclinic in Tysmenytsia and got acquainted with its work, as well as discussed the issue of access to pain relief. The head of the League Board took part in the scientific and practical seminar "Medical and social rehabilitation of children with special needs and palliative care", which was held on February 19 at the  regional children's clinical hospital.

The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Ihor Pasichnyak, Rector of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University Mykola Rozhko, Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Safety of the Ivano-Frankivsk State Administration Mykola Stovban, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the League Raisa Moiseyenko and Anatoly Tsarenko, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board, Chief Pediatric Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Volodymyr Martyniuk, employees of the medical industry of the region.

During the seminar, the process of further implementation of the system of medical and social rehabilitation and palliative care for children in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and Ukraine, its achievements and prospects were discussed.

At the meeting with the chief physician of the drug dispensary, Valery Stopych, they discussed the problematic issues of drug addiction and alcoholism treatment, the quality of substitution therapy, and new challenges caused by ATO.

During the meeting with T.V. at. Iryna Rokhman, Head of the Department of Family Affairs, Youth and Gender Policy of the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, Vasyl Knyazevich raised the issue of raising a healthy nation and the participation of Prykarpattia youth in the preparation and implementation of the "Centenary Club" project.

The head of the League's Board also visited the Ivano-Frankivsk regional hospital for care of the terminally ill "Hospice".

After the seminar, a round table meeting "Actual issues of the development of palliative and hospice care" was held, where the spectrum of the most important issues that need to be resolved in order to improve work in this area was outlined.

According to the results of the round table, a resolution was adopted, which after finalization will be sent to the relevant state bodies.

Summing up the trip, Vasyl Knyazevich noted that Prykarpattia is moving in the right direction regarding  the development of the palliative care system, many steps have been taken, and our task is to promote development and support further steps and correct negative moments that arise in the process.
